Review
It’s refreshing to see a strong female lead like Grace who must fight tooth and nail to secure her place as the heiress to her ducal house. Using her intelligence and wit, Grace stays two steps ahead of her enemies, consistently outmaneuvering them at their own game. Her physical strength as a royal knight adds another compelling layer to her character.
A highlight of the story is the support Grace gains from other female characters, such as the Princess and her close friends. The dynamic between Grace and Valerie, in particular, is endearingly funny and heartwarming. Despite their differences, they both embody strong, business-minded women who understand how to thrive in the cutthroat world of noble society, where weakness isn’t an option.
Romance
The romance so far feels like a subplot, with the male lead, Rique, taking a backseat in this season. While he finds Grace fascinating and watches her from the sidelines, his character hasn’t had much depth yet. I would like to see more depth to Rique in season 2.
Grace’s father does not show her love, favouring his daughter of his lover he reunited with whilst she was in exile, Grace is resilient and doesn’t need her father’s love instead finding happiness in serving the Princess and being surrounded by female characters that support her, such as her maid and friends. Later on, we see Rique slowly coming to understand her and supporting her.
Read or pass?
If you’re looking for something different with a strong-willed female lead navigating a high-stakes power struggle, this webtoon is worth a try. Grace’s resilience and wit make her a standout character, though I would have liked to see more depth in both her character and Rique’s to elevate the story further. The artwork is decent—vibrant and expressive—but not extraordinary. Overall, I’d give this webtoon a solid 3/5.
